║ "BETTER THAN NEVADA SLOTS" ║
╚════════════════════════════╝
(C) 1993 J&J Gameware - All Rights Reserved
The "BETTER THAN NEVADA SLOTS" games share the same general look and
feel. There are a few game-specific differences, but not many.
All Things In Common:
KEYBOARD:
F1 -> Press the F1 key at any time to display the Help screen.
F2 -> Press the F2 key at any time to view the Top-Ten list.
F4 -> Press the F4 key to move your winnings from the Credits box to
the In-Your-Pocket box. This is called "cashing out", and will
happen automatically whenever you have nothing In-Your-Pocket
when you try to bet a coin. If you have run out of money, none
in the Credits box and none In-Your-Pocket, the game is over.
F5 -> Toggles Sound on or off. That is to say, if the sound is on,
pressing F5 will turn it off; if it is off, pressing F5 will
turn it on.
SPACE -> Pressing the SPACEBAR will bet one coin. From 1 to 3 coins may
be bet a time. All payoffs relate to how many coins you had
bet at the time. For example, if you bet 3 coins you will win
3 times more than if you bet only 1 coin.
ENTER -> Pressing the ENTER key will "pull the handle" and start the
reels spinning. You must have at least 1 coin bet before you
can do this, however.
ESC -> Use the ESC key to quit the game and put it away.
MOUSE ("Hot-spots"):
F1 box -> Located in the lower right corner of the screen. Click any-
where in this area to bring up the Help screen.
F2 box -> Also located in the lower right corner; clicking here will
display the Top-Ten list.
CASH OUT -> Clicking on the "button" labeled "CASH OUT" does the same as
pressing the F4 key.
SPIN -> Clicking on this "button" causes the reels to spin without
pulling the handle.
QUIT -> Clicking on this "button" does the same as pressing the ESC
key.
COIN SLOT -> Click anywhere on the coin slot area to bet a coin.
HANDLE -> Click anywhere in the area of the handle to pull it.
Game specific variations or additional functions:
All BONUS Games:
The Bonus option built into some of the "Better Than Nevada Slots"
adds an extra dimension of risk and reward. Whenever you have a
winner in the Bonus games, you are given a choice of playing the
Bonus or not. If you decide to play, you are risking the amount
that you have just won on the out-come of one spin of the Bonus
reel. There are three possible results: the first is that, if the
winning symbol appears, you will double the amount that you had
gambled, the second is that, if the "lose-it-all" symbol appears,
you will lose all of what you had just won, and the third possible
result is that, if the reel shows a "blank", nothing at all happens,
and you get to keep the original amount that you had won. So, with
the Bonus option, you have a 1-in-3 chance of doubling your winnings,
but you also have a 1-in-3 chance of losing it.
KEYBOARD:
Y,y -> In any of the games that have the Bonus feature, whenever
you have a winner and are presented with the Bonus option,
you can press the "Y" key to indicate that you want to
play the Bonus.
N,n -> Whenever you have a winner and are presented with the Bonus
option, you can press the "N" key to indicate that you do
not want to play the Bonus, but would rather just keep the
winning amount.
MOUSE:
YES Button -> Clicking on the YES "Button" whenever you are given
the choice of playing the Bonus will indicate that
you want to play the Bonus.
NO Button -> Clicking on the NO "Button" will indicate that you do
not want to play the Bonus.
All "PICK-YOUR-LUCK" Games:
In the "Pick-Your-Luck" games there is no ordered value structure
for any of the symbols used in the game. Instead, you get to choose
any one of the game's symbols to be the "high-payoff" winner, and
you can change it at any time before the next roll of the reels, but
only after you have bet at least one coin. In the payoff section of
the slot machine, at the top of the screen, all the symbols used in
the game are displayed. These are the symbols that you can choose
from. To the left of the slot machine's reels is a box labeled
"Current Choice" that displays the symbol that the machine will
recognize as the "high-payoff" winner. This is what you change when
you select any of the eight symbols.
(NOTE: The LUCKY TROLL "Pick-Your-Luck" games vary slightly from the
form outlined above in that your choice is limited to one of the four
Trolls. The other four symbols used in the Troll games DO have set
values.)
(NOTE 2: Also, in the ZODIAC games you, of course, have 12 choices.)
KEYBOARD:
Number keys "1" through "9","0","-","="
-> In the area of the screen where the symbols are displayed,
they are numbered from left-to-right and from top-to-bottom,
with the upper left-most symbol being number 1. Using the
number key that corresponds to the position of the symbol you
want to choose will select that symbol. (In ZODIAC, the zero
key (0) is used to indicate the tenth position, the minus
key (-) is used to indicate the eleventh position, and the
equal key (=) indicates the twelvth.)
MOUSE:
-> When using the mouse, simply click on the symbol where it is
displayed at the top of the slot machine to make your choice.
The "Better Than Nevada Slots" system is only available to those who
care to register the "Try-It" package for the small amount of $12.
The two games included in the "Try-It" package are fully functional,
fully operational programs that have not been diminished in any way.
Be sure to see the "READ.ME" file for game and theme definitions and
the "ORDER.FRM" file for mailing and pricing information.
May the bucks be with you!
